Hansi Flick is without multiple players as Barcelona kick off their UEFA Champions League campaign, against AS Monaco, at the Stade Louis II on Thursday night.
Dani Olmo’s injury, suffered over the weekend, is the latest blow for Barcelona. It is expected that fellow Spain international Ferran Torres will take his place in the starting XI against Les Monégasques. That is the expectation of Monaco manager Adi Hutter, in any case. As well as Olmo, signed from RB Leipzig over the summer, Frenkie De Jong, Gavi, Ronald Araujo, Andreas Christensen, Marc Bernal, and Fermin López are all also out for Barcelona.
Robert Lewandowski is expected to lead the line with Raphinha playing just off him with Barcelone expected to be deployed in a 4-2-3-1 formation.
Marc-André ter Stegen; Alejandr Balde, Gerard Martín, Pau Cubarsí, Jules Koundé; Marc Casadó, Pedri; Ferran Torres, Raphinha, Lamine Yamal; Robert Lewandowski. (L’Éq)
