2024 ends on a busy note for FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta, who finds himself scrambling to secure the registrations of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor in La Liga on December 31.
It has been a mixed year for Laporta and Barça, considering that the men’s team did not win any titles but the Femeni side continued to make history while there was success tasted by the men’s handball team as well.
But as we usher into the New Year, club president Laporta has revealed his three wishes for 2025 in a chat with SPORT.
The Barcelona president’s first wish is one that he has repeatedly voiced in his speeches. Laporta wants unity among the Barça supporters to make it easier to achieve the club’s goals for the year ahead.
“I wish that all Barcelona supporters feel proud of all their athletes and that they remain united,” said Laporta.
The president knows that unity is the best way to achieve the club’s objectives and in many of his speeches, he has emphasised the need for the Cules to come together against external enemies.

Laporta’s second wish for 2025 concerns the Spotify Camp Nou and the first team’s return to the hallowed turf.
“I wish for the team’s return to the Spotify Camp Nou, which is the collective dream of all Barcelona supporters,” he said.
The Barcelona president had hoped for this to happen in 2024, with the first team returning to play at the iconic stadium in November, coinciding with the club’s 125th anniversary.
However, this was not possible, but Laporta remains hopeful that the team, under Hansi Flick, will return in 2025. While no exact date has been set, the board has not ruled out a return in February or March.
Laporta’s third wish has nothing to do with the club or sport, but with the flash floods that affected Valencia this year.
“I wish that aid and normality return to all those affected by the DANA,” said Laporta.
Both Barcelona and Laporta himself have been involved in providing aid to those affected by the devastating floods that struck the Valencian region in late October, resulting in over 220 deaths.
