Spanish football’s two leading clubs have long been keeping tabs on the development of a member of the defensive ranks at Premier League outfit Crystal Palace.
That’s according to English outlet The Sun, who point towards Marc Guéhi as the player in question.
Guéhi, it is understood, could be on the move this coming summer.
With just a year remaining on his contract at Selhurst Park, the Crystal Palace brass will be forced to make a decision: Sell now, or risk losing a valuable asset for free in 2026.
Should the England international be made available, a whole host of Premier League clubs are expected to quickly move for his signature.
It may come as something of a surprise, though, to hear that Spain could prove his most likely landing spot.
Owing to a long-standing agreement, players with African citizenship can be considered Spanish nationals. With Guéhi having recently renewed his Ivorian passport, the 24-year-old would therefore not take up a non-EU spot in the squad of a La Liga club.
And with this in mind, as per The Sun:
‘Real Madrid and Barcelona have kept tabs on his progress – and the lure of a dream move to Spain could prove too much for Guéhi.’
