La Liga giants Barcelona have this week received a fresh offer for an up-and-coming member of the club’s defensive ranks.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Mikayil Faye as the player in question.

The name of stopper Faye has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital for several months now.

This comes owing to widespread speculation surrounding the future of the Senegalese.

Amid something of a logjam at the heart of defence in Barcelona’s first-team setup, Deco and co. have seemingly identified Faye’s sale as something of a market opportunity.

A whole host of clubs from across the continent, in turn, have been credited with an interest in the 20-year-old.

And, as alluded to above, on Thursday, one such outfit have moved forward with an opening bid for Faye.

As per a report from Sport, citing Turkish outlet Takvim:

‘In the last few hours, Beşiktaş has reportedly offered around 10 million euros for the purchase of the player.’

Former Barca star Giovanni van Bronckhorst, manager of Beşiktaş, is the driving force behind the pursuit, hopeful of making use of his close relationship with Deco to push an agreement over the line.

The brass at the Camp Nou, though, for the time being at least, are understood to be holding out for closer to €15 million.
