Vanderson has become a crucial component in AS Monaco’s defence ever since he joined the club in early 2022.
In just three years, he has featured in 118 competitive matches for Monaco, establishing himself as a reliable outlet in the wider defensive position.
Vanderson’s performances at AS Monaco have not gone unnoticed either, with Barcelona emerging as one of his potential suitors.
According to Diario SPORT, Barça sporting director Deco has been monitoring Vanderson since 2022 and is keen on snapping up his services next summer.
Barcelona’s internal board is in agreement that the club require reinforcements in the wider defensive positions, and Vanderson, to that end, has emerged as one of the top targets.
The club have already been working behind the scenes and trying to enter official negotiations for the player.

Barcelona are specifically looking for a player who can counterbalance the youth and at the same time, offer fresh perspective. Vanderson fits the bill perfectly and it appears the management is convinced he can become a leader in his position in the next five years.
Some within the Barça camp even believe that Vanderson’s qualities and style of play are similar to that of club legend Dani Alves.
Although Jules Kounde is finally enjoying playing as a right-back this season, Barcelona want someone to compete with the Frenchman in the years to come. That is where Vanderson comes into the fray.
The Brazilian, for his part, would love to join Barcelona next summer and would do everything possible to make the transfer happen.
That said, the defender has a contract at Monaco until 2028, meaning the French outfit should get a lot of leverage to try and ask for a hefty sum.
Therefore, a lot may depend on Financial Fair Play rules and how much margin Barcelona receive to spend next summer.
