Barcelona star a summer target for Galatasaray | OneFootball

A member of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has made his way onto the radar of the transfer team at Galatasaray.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Iñaki Peña as the player in question.

Peña, for his part, is of course in the midst of what has proven an altogether challenging recent stretch in Catalunya’s capital.

Afforded the starting gloves between the posts by Barcelona boss Hansi Flick following the long-term injury suffered by Marc-André ter Stegen, the Spaniard has since found himself usurped by Wojciech Szczęsny.

As much has given rise to frustration on Peña’s part, culminating in speculation that the shot-stopper could look for a way out in the summer.

And one club who could hand Peña a shot at precisely that come in the form of the aforementioned Galatasaray.

The Turkish heavyweights are on the lookout for reinforcements between the posts, with long-time no.1 Fernando Muslera set to turn 39 this year.

And as per a report from Sport, after the Barcelona man spent time on loan in Istanbul during the 2022/23 campaign, Gala are now considering a fresh approach for Peña’s signature:

‘According to sources from Turkey, Galatasaray would be delighted to recover the services of Iñaki Peña.’
