A leading member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is now amongst the very favourites to be named Player of the Tournament at Euro 2024.

That’s according to Squawka, who point towards Lamine Yamal as the player in question.

Wide-man Lamine is for his part fresh off another outing to remember on the international stage on Friday night.

Afforded a starting berth in Spain’s Euro 2024 quarter-final showdown with Germany, the youngster – still just 16 – played a decisive role once more.

Though his impact was not quite as keenly felt as in previous games, when it mattered most, Lamine conjured up a moment of much-needed quality.

Cutting in from his berth on the right flank, the Barcelona sensation laid on a perfect pass to Dani Olmo, who picked out the bottom corner of Manuel Neuer’s net with aplomb.

This marked Lamine’s third assist of the tournament, and proved crucial en route to Spain’s eventual 2-1 victory.

Not only that, but it kept alive the winger’s claim for Player of the Tournament at the European Championships.

As revealed by statisticians Squawka, Lamine is now considered the 2nd favourite to scoop POTT honours, behind only La Roja teammate and Manchester City standout Rodri:
