Barcelona are on a renewal spree and have already secured the futures of Gavi, Pedri, Alejandro Balde, Marc Casado, Marc Bernal, Ronald Araujo and Fermin Lopez.

Earlier today, they confirmed that Pau Cubarsi has also renewed his deal at the club and that the player’s new contract with Barcelona will run until 2029.

Despite being a teenager, Cubarsi has established himself as one of the world’s best and most reliable defenders and is already a regular starter under Hansi Flick. At this point, it is even safe to say that he is one of the first names on the team sheet.

Cubarsi speaks after his renewal

Speaking to the media after officially renewing his contract at the club, the young defender spoke to Barça One and revealed his happiness over the development.

He began by revealing how he was itching to play at the newly renovated Spotify Camp Nou after securing his future at the club of his dreams.

“Hey Culés, I’m very happy to extend my contract. I hope to play at the new Spotify Camp Nou. Visca el Barça,” he said.

“My objective was to renew with the club, to play with the best shirt in the world,” he added on his renewal.

Speaking on what it meant to him to be a part of Barcelona at such a young age and represent the special crest week in and week out, the Spanish international said:

“Being a Barça player is a unique sensation. I can’t describe it with words. It’s a source of pride.”

Finally, Cubarsi assured fans that the team would leave no stone unturned to bring home silverware this season.

“We will do everything to win titles with the club,” Cubarsi concluded.
