Speaking to Jijantes FC in an interview, Barcelona midfield starlet Marc Casado has claimed that he would sign Manchester City goal-machine Erling Haaland if he were the club’s sporting director Deco for one day.
Haaland, 24, is one of the most lethal strikers in the game currently and has made a scintillating start to the current season, scoring nine goals in four games in the Premier League.
The Norwegian international has been on Barcelona’s radars for a long time now, with the club having tried to sign him in 2022.
Heading into the summer of 2025, the Catalans are once again said to be interested in the Manchester City centre-forward, with club president Joan Laporta looking at him as a dream signing to boost his re-election campaign.

It seems that the admiration for Haaland is not only shared by the club administrators but also the players in the squad.
Earlier this month, Pedri named Haaland as the one player he would like to sign for Barcelona if given an opportunity.
Now, it is Casado, who has echoed the same sentiment, saying: “If I were Deco for a day, I would sign Haaland.”
Manchester City, for their part, are trying to tie Haaland down to a new contract, although the striker’s entourage are insisting on the insertion of a release clause which would allow clubs like Barcelona or Real Madrid to make a move.
