Robert Lewandowski is on track to end the season with record-breaking numbers, according to journalist Sergi de Juan, who shared insights through AS.
It must be noted that Barcelona’s attacking power has been more than impressive under Hansi Flick, with the team scoring three or more goals in seven consecutive matches across all competitions.
In fact, Barcelona are currently the highest-scoring team in both La Liga and the Champions League.
A major contributor to this success is Lewandowski, who has silenced those who doubted his abilities. Despite being in his 30s, the Polish striker has shown that he’s far from finished.
With the support of younger, emerging talents, the Poland forward is thriving once again, scoring goals effortlessly and showcasing his clinical finishing ability.
So far, he has scored 14 goals in just 12 league matches, making him the top scorer in La Liga. His goal tally is double that of Raphinha, who follows in second place.

Moreover, Lewandowski’s performance in the Champions League has been outstanding, with five goals in just four matches, tying him for the competition’s top scorer alongside three other players.
In total, Lewandowski has found the back of the net 19 times in 16 official games this season.
Comparing his current form to previous seasons, Lewandowski’s first year with Barcelona saw him score 33 goals in 46 games, while his second season yielded 26 goals in 49 matches.
If he maintains his current form and avoids injuries or suspensions, he could reach an impressive 53 goals by the end of the season. This would be a remarkable feat, considering the last player to reach such numbers for Barcelona was Lionel Messi.
Lewandowski, like Messi, has the desire to keep participating. However, Flick faces the challenge of managing his workload to avoid burnout.
Against Crvena Zvezda, Lewandowski was substituted with 99 Champions League goals, leaving him just one away from reaching the century mark. It is expected that he will hit that milestone in Barcelona’s upcoming home game against Brest.
