As January nears, Barcelona grow increasingly stressed over the situation of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor.

After all, both players are only provisionally registered in La Liga and their participation beyond January is in doubt.

Barcelona have expressed confidence in their ability to ensure the Spanish duo’s registration in time for the games in January.

As the new year nears, however, it is uncertain if they will be able to play in the opening games of the month if the re-registration is delayed.

Decision tomorrow

As relayed in a recent update by Mundo Deportivo, Olmo and Victor will find out on Friday whether or not they can continue playing in January as things stand.

The Commercial Court of Barcelona heard both sides of the argument – from Barcelona and La Liga – last Monday, and the judgment will be made official tomorrow.

The lawsuit was filed by the Catalan club themselves appealing to register Olmo and Victor as through the issuing of a precautionary measure as they did with Gavi’s contract back in 2023.

As per La Liga’s stance, Barcelona must generate more income to be able to register the two stars. The deal with Nike was initially expected to serve the cause but it has now been divided over the length of the agreement.

Should the judgment turn out in the Blaugrana’s favour, both players can breathe a sigh of relief and play for the team in competitions including the Spanish Super Cup.

Else, Barcelona must quickly get to work on various manoeuvers to ensure sufficient financial injection including the proposed sale of VIP seats in the new Spotify Camp Nou.
