Just as Barcelona started warming up for their upcoming Champions League encounter against Borussia Dortmund, they were given a minor scare.
Indeed, as revealed by Adria Albets, starting goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny suffered a minor injury to his finger/hand, requiring the attention of the medical team.
Following that, the goalkeeper walked off the field, along with Dr Ricard Pruna and the Barcelona first-team goalkeeping coach, raising concerns.
However, the issue did not look serious at all and it has now been confirmed that the Pole will indeed hold on to his spot between the sticks at Signal Iduna Park despite the minor scare.
It will come as a major relief for Barça, considering that Szczesny has become a key player for Hansi Flick’s side since making his debut back in January.
In the 22 matches that he has played thus far, the 34-year-old veteran has not lost a single match, while conceding only 18 goals.
He will have a key role to play tonight as Barcelona look to secure their spot in the UCL semi-finals.
