The Barcelona coaching staff will need to be wary of the potential impact of a highly-regarded up-and-coming youngster, in the club’s upcoming meeting with Red Star Belgrade.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Andrija Maksimovic as the player in question.

Maksimovic, for his part, is a 17-year-old attacking midfielder, who has long been making waves in his home country of Serbia.

Already a first-team regular, and the youngest player to ever line out for the Serbian national team at senior level, the starlet has earned for himself the nickname of ‘Little Messi’ owing to his quick feet and ability in the final third.

Maksimovic has taken to the pitch on 10 occasions thus far this season, notching a goal and two assists along the way.

This includes a sumptuous free-kick en route to a 3-0 downing of Vojvodina over the weekend.

Expected to play a prominent role once more against Barcelona on Wednesday night, Hansi Flick and his coaching staff will need to keep a watchful eye on Maksimovic over the 90 minutes at the Red Star Stadium.
