Barcelona look as if they will not register Dani Olmo for their La Liga debut against Valencia at Mestalla. Despite several players who competed at the Olympics, which finished last Friday, competing for their teams, and others who were at the Euros also featuring, they have decided Olmo is not yet ready.

The 26-year-old signed for Barcelona last Friday and has just a week of training under his belt since returning to preseason, and Hansi Flick has reportedly decided he is not in the right shape for the match. Relevo point to this as the reason, but also mention Barcelona’s salary limit struggles as part of the reason too.

As things stand, Flick is to be without six players for the Valencia game due to the club’s finances: Olmo, Vitor Roque, Inigo Martinez, Pablo Torre, Alex Valle and preseason sensation Pau Victor. MD claim that he has an XI in mind if none of them are at his disposal, absences that are added to the injured Gavi, Pedri, Ronald Araujo, Frenkie de Jong and Ansu Fati.

Since, Marca have claimed that Inigo Martinez will be registered, but gave no update on the others. Earlier in the week multiple sources claimed that Flick had requested the Basque defender be registered as a priority.

Captain Marc-Andre ter Stegen would have Jules Kounde, Pau Cubarsi, Eric Garcia and Alejandro Balde in front of him, with Flick opting for the Olympic gold medal defensive partnership. Ahead of them, Andreas Christensen would anchor the midfield alongside youngster Marc Casado. Behind Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Ilkay Gundogan and Lamine Yamal would start.
