Bayer Leverkusen have announced the signing of Brazilian right-back Arthur from América Mineiro.
The 20-year-old will officially join the Bundesliga club next season, and he has signed a contract until June 2028.
“In addition to remarkable pace, Arthur brings footballing finesse into play,” Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes told the club’s official website.
“He’s agile, acts defensively with a clear view and sets strong offensive accents. His signing is a far-sighted transfer, and in Arthur we have gained a player with potential who we believe will play a decisive role in the medium term.”
Arthur made his full senior debut for the Brazilian national team in a friendly against Morocco last week under interim coach Ramon Menezes Hubner, who played for Leverkusen in the 1990s.
The full-back previously also worked under Ramon when Brazil won the U20 Copa América earlier this year.
