Real Madrid’s hopes of signing Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich might face a setback as Bayern’s club president, Herbert Hainer, has made his intentions clear regarding the player’s future.

Hainer has expressed his desire for Kimmich to remain at Bayern Munich for the rest of his career, signalling that the Bavarian club is not ready to let him go without a fight.

Kimmich’s current contract with Bayern Munich is set to expire in 2025, and there has been growing interest from Real Madrid to secure his services for free once the deal ends.

Real Madrid see Kimmich as a key target to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season without paying a transfer fee.

The Spanish giants are reportedly eyeing him as a valuable addition, given his versatility and immense talent. However, Bayern Munich are already taking steps to prevent this from happening.

Bayern won’t give up on Kimmich

It is said that the German club is determined to extend Kimmich’s contract, keeping him in Munich beyond 2025.

According to Hainer, Bayern are eager to ensure that one of their most crucial players stays put and doesn’t walk away for free.

Kimmich, who has recently been named the captain of the German national team, has earned praise from his club president, who described him as a player who constantly pushes forward and gives his best for the team.

“I congratulated Joshua and sent him a text and he replied within two minutes. This shows my appreciation for him and what I think of him. I think he absolutely deserves it,” said Hainer as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.

“He is someone who always goes forward, who always wants to give his best, even if it doesn’t always work out, but who does everything he can to do everything for the team.

“I would be happy if he finished his career at Bayern. But not next year, but many, many years later,” he added.

Bayern Munich’s commitment to holding onto Kimmich means that Real Madrid may have a tough challenge ahead in their pursuit of the player.

For now, it seems that Kimmich’s future could remain firmly tied to the Bavarian giants, with Bayern determined to keep their midfield leader beyond 2025.
