Chelsea’s ownership were starting to lose faith in Mauricio Pochettino this time last season, but that isn’t the case with Enzo Maresca according to reports.
The Blues head into the international break in the top four, despite losing 1-0 to Arsenal at the Emirates with another uninspiring performance.
Maresca’s men didn’t cause the Gunners any problems and had just eight touches inside the Arsenal box, which simply isn’t good enough.
Chelsea don’t play again until April 3rd and will be hoping to get the likes of Noni Madueke and Nicolas Jackson back for the final nine games as they aim to secure Champions League qualification.
Despite their indifferent form Maresca has done well this season, although fans are becoming frustrated with the style of play, and a lot of the sideways and backwards passing.
The football the Blues are playing now is in stark contrast to the exciting free flowing attacking football from earlier in the season which had them in second around Christmas.

The pressure is on Maresca to deliver Champions League football and win the Conference League, whilst the club are expecting a deep run in the Club World Cup this summer.
There are without doubt things Maresca can do better and he’s still very inexperienced as a manager, but Chelsea believe he’s the right man to take the club forward.
BBC Sport have reported it was about this time last season the ownership were starting to lose faith in Pochettino, but that simply isn’t the case with Maresca.
The report adds that senior staff at the club view the early season form as a blueprint for what the future will be like under the Italian.
