Has Benjamin Bourigeaud (30) played his final game for Stade Rennais? The versatile French midfielder, who captained the Breton club for a time last season, has been the subject of significant interest from Qatari side Al-Duhail, managed by former Paris Saint-Germain, OGC Nice and Lille OSC manager Christophe Galtier.

Amid that interest, it has been assumed that Bourigeaud would leave Rennes this summer, even if, according to L’Équipe, no concrete offer has been received for the €10m-rated midfielder. The Frenchman was on the scoresheet in Rennes’ victory over Olympique Lyonnais on Sunday, although that may yet be his final contribution for the club.

His lap of honour around Roazhon Park seemed like a goodbye and his post-match comments didn’t dampen talk of a departure. “Obviously, I have desires and I am reflecting. In my head, decisions have been taken, but since there is no agreement… I am trying to enjoy the present as much as possible. We’ll see what the future holds,” said Bourigeaud in a mixed-zone interview, attended by Get French Football News.
