GUADALUPE, Mexico – CF Monterrey earned a 3-nil win against Forge FC in the second leg of their Round One series, winning 5-nil on aggregate, as the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup continued Tuesday at Estadio BBVA in Guadalupe, Nuevo León, Mexico.

Sergio Canales has been directly involved in five of Monterrey's 13 goals in 2025 across Liga MX and the Concacaf Champions Cup. Berterame and Canales are the only Rayados players with multiple goals in 2025 across Liga MX and the Concacaf Champions Cup.

Jordi Cortizo extended the lead for Rayados in the second half in the 48’ with a left-footed finish inside the box following an assist from Óliver Torres. The goal was the second for Cortizo in the series after getting his name onto the scoresheet in the first leg.

Berterame secured his brace in the 58’, scoring with a chipped finish over the goalkeeper inside the penalty area after a through ball from Torres, who registered his second assist of the match.

With his two goals, Berterame became the first Rayados player to score a brace in the CCC since Rogelio Funes Mori against Cruz Azul in 2021.

Monterrey goalkeeper Luis Cárdenas had a standout performance in goal, registering five saves to collect his second clean sheet of the campaign.

Rayados obtained its 18th clean sheet at home since the current Concacaf Champions Cup was introduced in 2008, the most by any team in the tournament in that time.

With the victory, CF Monterrey advanced to the Round of 16 and awaits the winner of the Vancouver Whitecaps and Deportivo Saprissa series.
