Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé has been backed to come good by a former member of the offensive ranks in Spain’s capital.

The name of frontman Mbappé has of course dominated the headlines in Madrid over the last 12 hours.

This comes after the Frenchman was responsible for another hugely underwhelming performance in the colours of Real.

Afforded a chance to prove himself ‘the main man’ in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad in the absence of Vinícius during a Champions League showdown with Liverpool, Mbappé come up short, and then some…

A dismal display, which saw the 25-year-old surrender possession 15 times, and miss a spot-kick, gave rise to swift backlash across the continent.

As much only added to what has been a largely underwhelming start to life for Mbappé in Spain.

As alluded to above, though, one individual of the opinion that it is ‘only a matter of time’ before the former PSG man comes good for Real is Gareth Bale.

Speaking to the media on the back of the full-time whistle at Anfield on Wednesday, Blancos icon Bale assured:

“On his best day, Mbappé is the best in the world for me. It’s just a matter of time.”
