Whilst things are seemingly getting better on the pitch for AC Milan, the Rossoneri are struggling to make things better off of it, and fans are getting heavily frustrated.
Since Sergio Conceicao’s arrival, the general consensus around Milan has been more positive. Results are showing, and whilst there have been bumps, it seems like things are gradually improving. It is by no means a finished path though.
Off the pitch, the same cannot be said. Recently, the AIMC have held protests against the management, and today, they have announced that the protests will not stop any time soon.
The statement has been relayed in full by Milan News and reads as follows:
“WE are not mere spectators, but the beating soul of this team, an irreplaceable component of its history and its present.
“We are the ones who travel 1000 kilometres, face personal and financial sacrifices to be in the stands at the San Siro, travelling all over Italy and beyond (LEVERKUSEN, MADRID, BRATISLAVA).
“We have followed MILAN EVERYWHERE to support the colours we love and which represent our passion and identity.
More Stories / The Match
“The club’s recent decisions, aimed at repressing organised and A.I.M.C. (the heart of all Milan Clubs) supporters, accompanied by the increase in ticket prices, show a lack of interest in those who have always supported this team.
“The decision to privilege an audience of tourists, transforming the stadium into a mere attraction, betrays the values of belonging and identity that Milan has represented for millions of fans in Italy and around the world.
“San Siro is not a theatre, and WE are not silent spectators. The organised fans are the engine that fuels the unique atmosphere of the matches, the drive that has made Milan a symbol, on and off the pitch.
“Reducing everything to an economic issue means distorting football and alienating those who live this passion with their hearts.
“We ask the club to go back to respecting and valuing the fans who, with sacrifice and love, continue to support MILAN everywhere and to review the policies that threaten to drive the Rossoneri away from their home.
“There is no distance that can stop us, there is no sacrifice that scares us. But we demand respect for those who live this passion with heart and soul. MILAN IS US.”
