North Korea hit Argentina for six and Japan sunk New Zealand 7-0 at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia.

Group E: Ghana 1-2 Austria, Japan 7-0 New Zealand

Group F: North Korea 6-2 Argentina, Costa Rica 0-2 Netherlands

Maja Hijikata and Chinari Sasai each struck twice as Japan sent New Zealand to a 7-0 defeat, Aemu Oyama, Shinomi Koyama and Miku Hayama also on target.

Hannah Fankhauser and a Nicole Ojukwu penalty had Austria two up, before Ghana gained a stoppage-time consolation from Stella Nyamekye.

North Korea netted twice in the opening 10 minutes on the way to a 6-2 result over Argentina. Mi Ryong Pak and Ryong-Jong Jon with the early goals, Samantha Weiss conceding an own-goal in first-half added time and Kishi Nunez pulling one back before the break. Hyang Sin made it 4-1 two minutes after the restart, Il-Son Choe and Kang-Ryon Choe adding one each with Nunez getting her second in-between.

Veerle Buurman and Eva Elberink got the goals as Netherlands defeated Costa Rica 2-0.
