The postponed Serie A fixture between Bologna and Milan, originally scheduled to take place on Saturday at 17.00 is now most likely to be played in February, which means there are two likely sets of dates for the rearranged fixture to be carried out.

The game between Bologna and Milan was officially postponed by the Lega Serie A on Friday after recent flooding and warnings of further safety risks in the Emilia-Romagna region.

When could Bologna-Milan be played in February

Lega Serie A President Lorenzo Casini has confirmed that the rearranged fixture will take place “probably in February.”

As confirmed by Sky Sport Italia, there are two possible slots when the game could take place: Either in the midweek slot of February 4th/5th, or the midweek slot of February 25th/26th.

Both Bologna and Milan already have Serie A fixtures scheduled for every Sunday in February, so if the rearranged fixture does happen in February, it will be in a midweek slot.

The confirmation of the date will depend on Bologna and Milan’s future results in the Champions League and Coppa Italia.

At present, the Coppa Italia quarter-finals are due to take place on February 5th, so if either Bologna or Milan qualify, that date will no longer be viable.

The Champions League knock-out phase play-off is due to take place on February 11th and 12th, and the following week on the 18th and 19th, so that midweek slot will not be possible if either team in the top 24 at the end of the league phase.

If either Bologna or Milan qualify for the Coppa Italia quarter-finals, or the Champions League knock-outs, then the only remaining possible date in February would be the midweek slot of February 25th/26th.
