Scorers: Castro 48', Ndoye 82'; Leão 43'

It was a frantic and all-action affair across 90 minutes at Stadio Renato Dall'Ara, with both sides coming close inside the first minute to set the stage for the evening.

Milan nearly set themselves off on the perfect start after 20 seconds when Rafael Leão shook free from his marker in space before squaring for Santiago Giménez, but the Mexican international could only balloon his effort over the par.

Bologna then countered almost immediately after a ball into the box by Benjamin Domínguez was shanked by Malick Thiaw, who can thank his lucky stars after the ball bounced just wide of the post.

Despite Vincenzo Italiano's Rossoblù looking the better of the two sides as the interval loomed, Leão proved a threat once again, but this time, putting Milan ahead in the 43rd minute after picking up Giménez's flick into space and driving into the area before rounding Łukasz Skorupski to put the Rossoneri in front.

Unfortunately for Sergio Conceição's men, their lead only lasted a matter of five minutes after Bologna equalised just three minutes after the break.

Santiago Castro would smash home from inside the box after a free-kick from Evan Ferguson would deflect around the area before falling to the Argentine to convert his seventh goal of the league season.

It would go from bad to worse for Milan when Swiss international winger Dan Ndyoe added a second on the scoresheet for Bologna when he tapped home from inside six yards after beating his marker to Nicolò Cambiaghi's cross just minutes after Milan should have probably taken the lead through substitute Luka Jović.

Despite five minutes of added time, Milan was unable to peg one back to steal a point away from home that they otherwise would not have deserved.

With that, Bologna climbs to sixth in the table while Milan remains in 8th after their recent uptick in form.
