Bolton and Curzon go top of women’s regional league tables

Bolton Wanderers and Curzon Ashton went top of regional league tables, leaders were caught by AFC Stoneham and defeated at Lichfield City.

EASTERN – Royston double lead

Premier – Royston Town won 3-1 at Haringey Borough with two goals for Emma Slater to go six points clear of Luton Town at the top, although the Hatters have two games in hand. Enfield Town got the only goal at Dussindale & Hellesdon Rovers to jump three places to third.

League Plate 2nd Round – The only tie to survive the storm was Hutton’s 3-1 victory over Stevenage Development, in which Daisy Canny got a double for the home side.

EAST MIDLANDS – Rotherham win shoot-out in sudden-death

Premier – Basford United went fifth with five goals at Ilkeston Town, where Bethany Cutts and Katie Platts each scored twice.

League Cup 3rd Round – Rotherham United progresses 6-5 on penalties after a 1-1 deadlock at Gainsborough Trinity, Sheffield FC substitute Sadie Smith sent her side through 2-1 at Grimsby Town with an 83rd-minute winner. Dunton & Broughton United defeated Leicester City LFC with a single Lottie Mould goal, Loughborough Foxes Vixens sank Arnold Eagles 7-0 with Ruby Freer hitting a hat-trick. Anstey Nomads put eight past West Bridgford, while River City had a walkover against Bugbrooke St.Michael.

League Plate 2nd Round – Notts County Development beat Buxton 8-1 in the only one of eight games to go ahead, Summer Oliff scoring twice in the first five minutes on the way to a treble.

LONDON & SOUTH EAST – Dartford go six points clear

Premier – Dartford moved six points ahead of the rest with a 4-0 win over Newhaven, although unbeaten Fulham and Saltdean United both have enough games in hand to overtake them.

1 North – Actonians Reserves were 3-1 winners at Ashmount Leigh, with Darcie Townley adding a late goal to a Jessica Wadey double.

League Cup 2nd Round – Millwall Lionesses beat Bognor Regis Town 4-2 away with Esme Johnson twice on target. Saltdean United Development edged Three Bridges 1-0 with a goal from substitute Holly Macleod, while their first team had a walkover against Welling United.

NORTH EAST – Owls gain ground on York

1 North –  Chester le Street Amazons’ Jennifer Haley scored with 20 minutes left but her team had to settle for a 1-1 home draw against basement side Redcar Town.

1 South –  Sheffield Wednesday are within two points of fifth-placed York City Development after defeating them 2-1. Nicole Shaw got the deciding goal with seven minutes to go, after Harriet Lloyd’s opener for the Owls had been replied to by Lucy Fairbank.

NORTH WEST – Curzon and Bolton both go top

Premier – Curzon Ashton’s 4-1 win over Fleetwood Town Wrens put them top of the table but Wythenshawe have three games in hand and are only a point behind. Bury got off the bottom at the expense of the Wrens after a 1-1 draw with FC United of Manchester, who are just goal-difference above them.

1 North – Bolton Wanderers took over pole position from Penrith on goal-difference after netting nine at Atherton Laburnum Rovers, with Faye Knox scoring three times. Workington Town’s Beatrix Barber and Cassie Donald each registered a hat-trick in a 7-0 result at Blackpool.

1 South – Mossley Hill Athletic beat fourth-placed Wigan Athletic 4-2 to rise to second, with a couple each from Ceri Ogdon and Khadeeja Rhoden. Wirral Phoenix climbed into the top half of the table with a 5-1 defeat of Warrington Town.

SOUTHERN – Stoneham catch Fleet

1 South – AFC Stoneham went level on points with leaders Fleet Town following a 3-1 win over Wimborne Town but they have played two  more games than the top team. AFC Varsity inflicted a tenth straight defeat on QK Southampton, Eloise Paine scoring in the first minute of a 4-0 result.

League Cup 2nd Round – Winchester City Flyers went through 4-1 at Woking with Laura da Silva bagging a brace, Ascot United had a walkover against Slough Town.

SOUTH WEST – Four-goal Francis sinks Sherborne

Premier – Just the one game but 11 goals as Frampton Rangers came out on top 7-4 at Sherborne Town. Four goals from Shannon Francis helped Frampton rise two places to eighth with victory over the team sitting fourth.

WEST MIDLANDS – Lichfield City defeat leaders

Premier –  Burton Albion beat Knowle 3-1 to go up two places to fifth, Port Vale’s second win of the season came 6-1 at Solihull Sporting.

1 North – Lichfield City defeated leaders Walsall Wood 4-2, Courtney Dilger’s second-half double helping them move within three points of the top two with as many games in hand. Hednesford Town leapfrogged Rugby Town on goal-difference when beating them 5-1 away, Leek Town Reserves got off the mark with a 2-2 tie against Tamworth.
