Training camp starts in Albufeira

Salzburg is experiencing some wintery weather, but our Red Bulls made it to much warmer climes today in Portugal as they spend eight days in ideal conditions preparing for the rest of the season.

Our journey began very early at 5:00 in the morning in Taxham before we flew via Frankfurt to the spring-like conditions and sunshine on the Algarve, arriving at 12:30 local time (an hour earlier than Austrian time).

One absence in 31-man squad

One of our players had to stay at home: Bobby Clark is currently out with an ear infection but should be able to travel to join the rest of the team soon.

The rest of our squad for the training camp, which includes a few Liefering talents, got to work straight after arriving. At 16:00 sharp, Thomas Letsch was whistling loudly over the hotel's own training pitch in Albufeira. Our coach started the first session in the Portuguese sun with a short team talk before leading our boys through passing exercises, rondos and match practice.

Over the next few days, we plan to continue increasing the tempo. We have two sessions scheduled tomorrow on the pitch with the coaching staff and players also using the time for meetings.
