Spain romped to a 4-2 friendly win over France at the Allianz Riviera stadium.
Scorers: Bonmatí 6', Pina 23' García 60'; Méndez 37' (OG), Diani 71'
Spain were ahead after just six minutes when Mariona Caldentey ran unchallenged down the left wing and put a dangerous ball across the six-yard box for Aitana Bonmatí to slide in with an emphatic finish.
La Roja doubled their lead as Bonmatí turned provider, slipping in Barcelona team-mate Clàudia Pina, who managed a tame shot from the edge of the box that in truth goalkeeper Constance Picaud could've done better with.
Before the break, France pulled one back when María Méndez inexplicably turned a cross from Vicki Bècho into the back of her own net.
Into the second half and Spain extended their lead when Ona Batlle got in front of her marker down the wing and squared the ball for Lucía García to tap home Spain's third.
Some good work from France's Melvine Malard led to the Manchester United forward picking out Kadidiatou Diani in the centre of the box for a simple tap-in to bring things closer at 3-2.
But then Spain were awarded a penalty with little over ten minutes to go, and Caldentey emphatically smashed home the spot-kick.
That's the last match of 2024 for both of these sides, with the next international matchday coming in February 2025 with Nations League fixtures already on the calendar.
