After a couple of months out of action following a traumatic brain injury, Atlético Madrid’s defensive summer signing Robin Le Normand is getting closer and closer to making a return.
According to Cadena SER, the 28-year-old has finally returned to training after spending just over two months on the sidelines.
Le Normand played a full match against players from the club’s academy, as Atleti prepare for their upcoming cup tie against Cacereno, a club from Cáceres that plays in the Spanish fourth tier.
The plan could well be to give the defender some minutes in the cup, as a way of easing him back into action and building up his match fitness.
Coming off the back of a 5-0 away win at Real Valladolid at the weekend, spirits will be high and Diego Simeone’s men will be heading into the tie with a positive attitude.
Whether Le Normand is introduced back into the squad as quickly as Thursday’s tie against Cacerano or has to wait until the weekend or beyond, everyone in Spanish football will be happy to see him back fit after he suffered such a scary injury.
