Inter Milan defender Francesco Acerbi and midfielder Davide Frattesi are set to return to training ahead of Sunday’s Serie A clash with Fiorentina.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia. They report that the pair are likely to be back for tomorrow’s training session.
Inter were missing a couple players in Tuesday’s Champions League win over RB Leipzig.
One was defender Acerbi. The 36-year-old had sustained a thigh knock during the Nerazzurri’s Serie A win over Hellas Verona last weekend.
Then, midfielder Frattesi also pulled out of the squad. The former Sassuolo midfielder had suffered a slight knee problem in training ahead of the match.
However, neither Acerbi nor Frattesi will have to wait too long before they can return.
Sky report that both of the two Italian internationals are on the verge of returning to training.
The broadcaster predict that tomorrow will be the day. Acerbi and Frattesi can already return to full training with the rest of the squad.
That is good news for Inter coach Simone Inzaghi.
The Nerazzurri have another big match right around the corner. They face Fiorentina away in Serie A on Sunday.
La Viola are level on points with the Nerazzurri going into this weekend’s match.
