Despite recent concerns over the fitness of Jamie Gittens and Ramy Bensebaini, Borussia Dortmund expect the duo to be available for next weekend’s home game against SC Freiburg.

Borussia Dortmund were handed a couple of scares earlier this week as it was reported that Jamie Gittens and Ramy Bensebaini could be sidelined with injury. The English FA claimed that the former did not link up with the U-21s squad due to injury, while the latter was forced off during Algeria’s match against Equatorial Guinea.

But it appears that both wide players are expected to be available to face SC Freiburg in the Bundesliga next weekend. According to Kicker, Borussia Dortmund expect Gittens to be able to train regularly with the team next week. The winger could well be a candidate to play from the start once again, having made a strong start to the season.

The magazine adds that Borussia Dortmund also have no information about Bensebaini having suffered any injury. The left-back is still with the Algeria squad and could be in action later on Sunday against Liberia.

Borussia Dortmund will hope that the team’s injury situation eases up a bit after the international break. The Black and Yellows were without several key players in the games leading up to the break.

But Nuri Sahin could be boosted by the returns of Karim Adeyemi and Gregor Kobel for the home game against SC Freiburg. The goalkeeper made his return to action this week as he represented Switzerland in their Nations League clash against Serbia.
