Borussia Dortmund have completed the signing of goalkeeper Marwin Hitz from Augsburg on a three-year deal.
Hitz will officially move to the Westfalenstadion on a free transfer on 1 July and is expected to compete with Roman Bürki for the number one jersey next season.
“After five very valuable years at Augsburg, I wanted to experience something else again,” the Swiss international told BVB’s official website.
“I am looking forward to the challenge of playing for such a big club and especially to the games in the Champions League.”
The 30-year-old began his career at St. Gallen in his homeland before moving to Wolfsburg in 2008.
In 2013 he joined Augsburg, where he made 157 appearances in five seasons, keeping 47 clean sheets along the way.
