Borussia Dortmund’s search for a striker is unlikely to result in them signing RB Leipzig’s Yussef Poulsen.

The club were linked with a move for the 29-year-old over the weekend but reports in Denmark say a transfer is not set to materialise.

According to Danish outlet Ekstra Bladet, Leipzig’s Sport Managing Director Max Eberl does not want to sell the Danish international this summer and instead will look to extend his contract, which runs out next summer.

The report adds that Dortmund would be willing to pay up to €10m for the striker, who started in Leipzig’s 5-1 win over Stuttgart on Friday.

Poulsen has spent a decade at Leipzig, making 361 appearances for the club, scoring 85 goals.

Dortmund are in need of an alternative option up top given Sébastien Haller is expected to be part of Ivory Coast squad at the African Cup of Nations at the start of 2024.
