Borussia Dortmund’s Salih Özcan set for Wolfsburg medical | OneFootball

According to kicker, Borussia Dortmund midfielder Özcan is set to undergo a medical at VfL Wolfsburg.

It had previously been reported that both BvB and Özcan were looking to part ways.

With interest from 2. Bundesliga side Hannover 96, the 26-year-old also had offers from the Turkish Süper Lig.

However, Wolfsburg were able to negotiate a deal with Die Schwarzgelben, and it is understood that Özcan will join the Wolves on loan for the 2024-25 campaign.

Nevertheless, Wolfsburg have not been able to include a future purchase option in the deal for the midfielder, whose contract at the Westfalenstadion is set to expire in 2026.

Regardless, Özcan will undergo a medical with Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side in the next 24 hours before signing his contract at the Volkswagen Arena.

It is expected that the 26-year-old will make his Wolfsburg debut on Saturday when Die Wölfe travel to newly promoted Holstein Kiel in search of their first three points of the Bundesliga season.
