As reported via Bild, Borussia Mönchengladbach have submitted a bid for Brest winger Franck Honorat.
It is believed that Die Fohlen have offered the French side €9m for the winger. However, it is expected that the first proposal will be rejected by Les Pirates, as they are hoping for a larger fee with Honorat’s market value at €10m.
Nevertheless, it is a transfer that could be tricky for the German side, as their planned rebuild for this summer could be jeopardised by the injury sustained to Manu Koné. The Gladbach midfielder was set to be sold this summer for a fee of around €30m, however, after an injury that left Koné in crutches after international duty for the French under-21 side, a sale may not be forthcoming.
Nonetheless, Honorat would be a quality acquisition for the Foals with twelve goal contributions in 35 appearances for the French outfit in all competitions last season. The 26-year-old would offer Gladbach an impactful left-winger that has been missing since Marcus Thuram transitioned to a central attacking player.
The French side are in a positive bargaining position after the winger signed a new deal at the club in January until 2026. Gladbach were interested in Honorat last summer, but a deal collapsed late in the window and the Foals missed out.
