‘Boss’ – Barcelona star hailed by Mbappé & more after latest Euro 2024 display | OneFootball

A leading member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has this weekend been hailed by a number of his teammates at international level.

The player in question? Jules Koundé.

Stopper Koundé, for his part, was afforded his latest starting berth on the international front late last night.

As much came in France’s Euro 2024 quarter-final showdown with Portugal.

Handed the unenviable task of keeping tabs on Rafael Leão down Les Bleus’ right-hand side, the former Sevilla man endured, at times, a difficult evening, against one of the game’s very best one-on-one players.

When it mattered most, though, Koundé stood tall.

Taking responsibility of one of his country’s five spot-kicks in the eventual penalty shootout, the 25-year-old slotted an unstoppable effort into the top corner of the Portuguese net.

And, safe to say, some of his most high-profile teammates were altogether appreciative of as much.

Taking to the comments section of Koundé’s post-match Instagram post, the likes of Kylian Mbappé, Theo Hernández and William Saliba heaped well-earned praise on their compatriot.
