Bournemouth fans renew acquaintances with Eddie Howe once again.
A legend at the club, saving them from dropping into non-league and then taking them all the way through the divisions right up into the Premier League.
Interesting to see what Bournemouth fans are having to say ahead of Saturday’s match.
Bournemouth fans knowing that a victory on Tyneside would take their team to within one point of Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United.
Earlier on Friday, Andoni Iraola said no injured players would return on Saturday, so Bournemouth set to have at least nine players missing.

‘Tough Game Against Side In Winning Form
The Cherries fans will think back to our first home game of this season and that controversial VAR handball decision given against Dango Ouattara in injury time in AFCB’s first home game against the Magpies at Dean Court. AFCB should have had all three points, in the end they had to settle for one point.’
‘As long as we play like we did against Chelsea, there will be no complaints. The boys gave everything, you can’t ask for more.’
‘Just wondering, is it an unjust penalty to Newcastle game or an unfairly disallowed AFCB goal match? One or the other seems to happen every time against this lot but wasn’t sure what was planned.’
‘They will be suffering from fatigue because we’ve had 24 extra hours to rest our 13 players.’
‘I definitely want all three points from this one after we were unjustly deprived of two points last time.
For me this is a chance to set the record straight ( even though of course it doesn’t, but you know what I mean ).
A draw or defeat would see me still fuming over those two stolen points.
A win in this one would make it easier for me to move on, emotionally speaking.’
‘Feels like it’s not just that last game either. They get a dodgy penalty every time we go there it seems.’
‘I’m as positive as the next person, but, I’m struggling to see us coming away with more than 1 at best on Saturday… With the run they are on, the time between this and our last game at Chelsea, and the fact we’ve 12 fit players that have played PL football… It will be a tough afternoon at SJP…
The key to Iraola’s system working is being able to refresh his attacking options midway through the 2nd, hence his decision to leave JK on the bench on Tuesday… Where do we change the game atm…?’
‘Agree, I thought Chelsea would be a game too far for our threadbare squad and I was delighted to be proved wrong. Newcastle could be that game too far but who knows with the spirit and ability in the team. Not often I don’t make the w/ender in Geordieland but this year I will be cheering from afar.’
‘We can just about field a very strong starting eleven but as things stand we need to keep them all on the pitch for 90 minutes plus stoppage time because our bench just doesn’t have the quality required to step in seamlessly.
That’s an unrealistic ask at the required energy levels and we are now running a very high risk of further injuries by working our remaining healthy players so hard.’
‘Just landed in Newcastle. 3 degrees.’
‘Also here already and can confirm it’s freezing and getting colder for the game. Saying around 2 degrees at kick off so wrap up warm folks!’
‘Balmy Army’
‘Hopefully early starts subdues the home fans’
‘Eddie Howe is very poker face in his press conferences and had been so far in this one.
You cannot convince me this guy still doesn’t love us.
Just look at him describing the team and our new facilities.’
‘Eddie Howe very complimentary towards AI and the squad in an interview with talksport.’
‘Love Eddie.
Ledge…’
‘Wouldn’t swap him for AI though.’
‘Can we now add those two stolen points at Chelsea to the two stolen from us against Newcastle?’
‘A point here would be a massive achievement. Newcastle are flying at the moment. AI is being asked to perform miracles so we really need players back. A little frustrating we’ve not managed to get any PL ready signings in yet last week given the scale of our injury crisis and letting 2 go.’
‘Injuries aside, I don’t really fear Newcastle ordinarily. Our defence on paper has become very good, it’s whether our attack fires or not that’s usually the question. Will be difficult keeping Isak quiet, but it’s not impossible for our lot.’
‘I’ve looked at the last 4 league games for Newcastle. There were 2 home games (A Villa and Wolves) and 2 away (Man U and Spurs, which would normally be tough, but both teams are in the bottom half of the league) and Newcastle have won all 4 (which is part of a much longer sequence). In all games, Newcastle have been the better team, although Wolves was certainly closer, based on xG than the 3-0 scoreline suggests. Newcastle have scored 10 goals and conceded 1, with xG estimating 9.32 goals with 3.80.’
‘Currently listening to Andoni’s press conference- no one back from injury for this weekend .’
‘Problem is we only have about 13 players available… not including youth, that filled most the bench last game.’
