Bradford City have been backed to finish fourth in League Two by the SuperComputer - a minimum requirement this coming season.

According to an online SuperComputer, Bradford City will finish in fourth, narrowly missing out on the automatic promotion places but successfully entering the Sky Bet League Two play-offs come May.

If fans believe this prediction from the SuperComputer, this could be an ideal finish for many of the Bantam supporters as long as the club is successful in the play-offs. Actually, for many fans, a day out in the sun at Wembley would be the icing on the cake.

However, before booking those hotels down south in the capital, it’s worth noting that the SuperComputer just may not be correct.

After all, the tech specialists who design and manage the SuperComputer could program something to give them the lottery winning numbers, right?

So, by taking the outcome with a pinch of salt, let’s take a closer look at the prediction for Bradford City in the new season.

The predictions of the SuperComputer work by being specifically curated code that calculates the probability and outcome of every single Sky Bet League Two match and then simulates each of these fixtures by 1000x.

For the coming season, the Bantams have been predicted to finish in fourth position, behind automatic promotion winners Fleetwood Town, Port Vale and Cheltenham Town, in that very order.

Inside the play-offs, Bradford City would be joined by Accrington Stanley, MK Dons and Gillingham, also in order, meaning that Bradford would face Gillingham in the play-offs.

Now, if we solely go on each team’s squad on paper, including summer transfer Aaron Rowe, who joined the Gills from Bradford rivals Huddersfield Town, the Bantams would arguably be a better choice to progress, but that could be bias playing part. Still, as we know, football is not played on paper.

However, surely Newport have enough under the leadership of shrewd owner Huw Jenkins to avoid the drop despite being managerless at this current time.

But we can look back at what one SuperComputer predicted last season and how much it correctly predicted, which is somewhat of a surprise.

The SuperComputer predicted Stockport County would win the league, Mansfield Town would finish third, and Sutton United would finish 23rd, which ultimately came true at the conclusion of the 2023-24 season.

Tranmere Rovers, who actually finished mid-table, were predicted to finish bottom of the table, with Wrexham being backed for a fifth place play-off finish despite the Welsh side finishing in second under the leadership of former Bradford manager Phil Parkinson.

Interestingly, the Bantams were predicted to finish in fourth, just like this season. That just about goes to show that these predictions are not to be taken as anything other than a bit of fun.

Many of the Bradford City fanbase, would be happy with finishing in the play-offs. It would undoubtedly be an improvement on last season. The takeaway here, though, is not to take the SuperComputer’s predictions to heart but simply enjoy the season, get behind the team and, hopefully, promotion will be finally achieved automatically or via the play-offs, and we can all celebrate without any thought to the words of the SuperComputer and its predictions.
