Preston North End head to Blackpool this weekend for a Lancashire derby that has been circled on the calendar for some time already.
Ryan Lowe’s men were also lifted by a win over Huddersfield Town on Tuesday night, as Greg Cunningham’s goal was the difference and enough for a 1-0 victory.
That put back-to-back defeats behind Preston and leaves them with a spring in their step heading over to Blackpool.
As our graphic below outlines, it’s difficult to imagine that Lowe will want to change too much, given he was impressed with the way Preston played at Huddersfield and controlled the game.
Freddie Woodman is an automatic pick in goal, whilst there’s little need to reshape a back-three that limited Huddersfield to no shot on target: Cunningham in the centre, flanked by Andrew Hughes and Jordan Storey.
Ben Whiteman and Ryan Ledson may continue as the midfield pivot, with Alvaro Fernandez and Brad Potts at wing-back.
At the top of a box midfield will be Ali McCann, who is joined by the returning Robbie Brady, replacing Ben Woodburn.
Leading the line will be Emil Riis, no doubt hoping for more of a sniff at goal than he got at Huddersfield on a day where he could become a derby hero.
