Palmeiras are making a serious push to sign Barcelona loanee Vitor Roque and if a report from SPORT is to be believed, they are prepared to make him their highest-paid player to secure his services.
The Brazilian club sees him as a key figure for their squad and is working aggressively to make the move happen before their transfer window closes at the end of February.
Roque’s future remains uncertain as Palmeiras intensify efforts to bring him back to Brazil. The club has already made contact with his representatives and is ready to offer a lucrative deal to convince him.
Reports indicate that the young forward would earn more than Paulinho on a long-term contract, making him the team’s most valuable asset. While negotiations are ongoing, the final decision rests with Barcelona and Real Betis.
Palmeiras are keen to finalise the transfer before the window shuts, but there are several hurdles to overcome. The first major issue is that Betis would have to terminate the two-year loan agreement they signed with Barcelona.
The Spanish club is not entirely convinced about letting Roque go and is also looking for financial compensation, which could complicate matters further.

From Palmeiras’ perspective, Betis appear to be stalling the situation in hopes of receiving some form of payment. The Brazilian side expects Barcelona to intervene and resolve the matter soon.
So far, Palmeiras have only expressed their interest but have not made an official offer. They are also aware that Roque is hesitant about returning to Brazil, which is why they are pushing hard with an attractive financial package.
If Palmeiras fail to complete the transfer now, they plan to revisit the deal during the next transfer window. They are willing to pay around €25 million plus add-ons, allowing Barcelona to recoup most of their initial investment.
While Barcelona are open to the sale, Betis’ stance remains a potential roadblock. Betis have the option to extend Roque’s loan or purchase 80% of his rights for €25 million. However, they are reluctant to do so unless they receive compensation.
Lastly, given that Roque has no place in Barcelona’s squad, the forward is expected to leave again in the summer—either on another loan or through a permanent transfer, with Palmeiras remaining highly interested in securing his services.
