Manchester United fans were left in disbelief after watching Ayden Heaven stretched off the pitch at King Power Stadium.

The 18-year-old’s emergence to the scene has been one of the most delightful events in what has been an appalling campaign for the club overall. The young centre-back made his first appearance as a starter in the Premier League as the Red Devils went on to beat Leicester City by three unanswered goals.

The former Arsenal man also had an instrumental role to play, especially after making a vital clearance to prevent Patson Daka from heading goalwards in the 26th minute. His decisive action was swiftly followed by Rasmus Hojlund’s opening goal.

But sadly for Heaven, he wasn’t around to celebrate the victory with his teammates, as a knee injury early in the second half spelled the end of his evening. Man Utd supporters feared the worst when they saw the young player stretched off the pitch.

Ruben Amorim also failed to provide a clear update on the youngster’s condition. The Portuguese simply told reporters after the match that the player is so young he found it hard to express himself.

“We will see next week. It’s hard to understand because even when he’s on the ground, he can’t speak, he doesn’t know how to explain what he’s feeling because he’s so young. It’s hard to understand what he’s feeling,” said Amorim.

Nevertheless, Manchester Evening News senior writer Tyrone Marshall offered what might be reassuring news on the player’s condition, as he revealed Heaven was able to leave the stadium unassisted.

“Ayden Heaven just left the King Power Stadium with his foot in a protective boot, but he was walking out unaided,” posted the journalist on his X account.

The next hours will certainly provide more detailed updates on the teenager’s injury, while Man Utd fans will be hoping it doesn’t turn out as serious as initially feared.
