AS Monaco’s Breel Embolo and Lille OSC duo Bafodé Diakité and Lucas Chevalier have both been sanctioned by the LFP’s disciplinary committee for excessive celebrations during their respective derby wins.

Embolo brandished a banner that read “Nissa Merda” (Nice are sh*t in Niçois) during the victory over OGC Nice (2-1) at the end of March. The banner was taken from the Monaco ultras at the end of the game. Chevalier and Diakité, meanwhile, took flares from the stands during Lille’s Derby du Nord win over RC Lens on 30th March. Diakité put the flare in his mouth during the celebrations.

All three have been handed suspended one-match bans following a ruling by the disciplinary committee on Wednesday. Montpellier HSC’s Bamo Meïté has received a two-game ban following a red card, whilst RC Strasbourg Alsace’s Diego Moreira and Stade de Reims’ Cédric Kipré have both received one-match bans following their red cards last weekend.
