Brentford have completed the signing of Liverpool defender Sepp van den Berg.
Van den Berg penned a five-year contract with Thomas Frank’s side, who agreed a reported £25m deal for his services.
The Dutch centre-back moved to Anfield in summer 2019 but went on to make only a handful of senior appearances for the club.
“I’m very pleased that we have managed to sign Sepp,” said Thomas Frank.
“I think this is a great signing for the club and the team.
“Sepp is a centre-back with a good level and he has the potential to develop even further.
“He fits our culture and the way we want to play: he is quick, he reads the game well and is composed on the ball in the build-up and in the decisive defending actions.
“Sepp is a great character, and I am convinced that he will fit in well with the group and help us to push forward.”
Van den Berg is the second player to move from Brentford to Liverpool this summer following Fábio Carvalho’s move earlier this month.
In a quirk of fate, both players could feature against their former employers when the Bees travel to Anfield in the Premier League this weekend.
