Brentford came from behind to beat Cardiff City 4-2 in the Professional Development League on Saturday at the Robert Rowan Performance Centre.

A brace from Josh Djoro sandwiched Nedved Owusu's first goal as the Bees went into the break 3-1 up, with the latter completing a double of his own in the second half to secure the three points.

Brentford started the game well and enjoyed large spells of possession inside the Cardiff half early on. The visitors began to enjoy more of the ball themselves and came close on 20 minutes through an Oliver Walsh shot.

A minute later, Cardiff took the lead after Jacob Hobson found Robert Tankiewicz with a pinpoint cross.

Despite the visitors having a good spell, Brentford turned the scoreline on its head with two goals in as many minutes.

Djoro grabbed Brentford’s first on the half-hour mark after Kaya Halil threaded a great pass through to Naeem Giscombe. The winger found Djoro with his cross and the number nine slotted home in neat fashion.

Moments later, the threatening Djoro was involved again as the Bees went in front. This time, his shot from close range was saved with Owusu turning home the rebound.

Cardiff had a great chance to equalise when Mannie Barton’s shot crashed off the bar but despite the visitors' pressure, it was the west Londoners who grabbed the next goal.

One minute before the break, Djoro found space inside the box and arrowed a shot into the bottom corner.

Cardiff started the second half well and pulled one back through a powerful header from Alyas Debono.

The visitors were pushing hard to find an equaliser, but the Bees were defending well as they aimed to see out their lead.

Brentford looked dangerous on the counter with the Bluebirds continuing to push players forward.

Owusu sealed the game inside the final 10 minutes as he fired home after a Halil shot had rebounded off a Cardiff defender into his path.
