Christian Eriksen could join Brentford this summer in the latest Man Utd news.
Brentford manager Thomas Frank recently appeared to confirm interest in the ‘fantastic’ midfielder.
Eriksen has made 17 starts for Manchester United this campaign, but he will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.
The Dane joined Brentford in January 2022 after recovering from the cardiac arrest he suffered at the 2020 European Championship.
He impressed during his short spell at the London club, which sparked interest from United.
The Red Devils signed him the following summer on a three-year deal, and he initially formed a formidable partnership with Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes in midfield.
However, Eriksen has endured a fairly underwhelming spell with the club. TV2 Sport asked Frank if he would be keen on a reunion with the player.
“Christian is a fantastic player, probably the best Danish player in recent times,” Frank said. “I think we saw most recently against Portugal that he did really well, and he is still in a good place.
“There is no doubt that Christian wants to play some more. He had a fantastic time when he was with us. At least, that’s how it was, from our side, and that’s what I know he’s expressed.
“I’m open to all players, and of course, there are lots of things that come into play whether someone comes in or not. But let me put it this way – nothing is closed.”
Eriksen was an unused substitute in Sunday’s goalless draw with Manchester City at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils produced an unconvincing display. They created a succession of half-chances but once again failed to convert their opportunities.
The result leaves United in 13th place in the Premier League standings, with 38 points from 31 matches. They are on course for their worst league finish in the modern era.
