The Seagulls have gone from strength-to-strength in the top flight under boss Graham Potter and even with the manager having now departed for Chelsea, they’ll feel they can continue this upwards progression. They’ve pulled results off against some of the best teams in the division and they’ve even looked like potential European contenders.

Before all of that though, they were a Championship outfit. Stuck in the league, they needed somebody to fire them out of the division and into the promised land of the Premier League. Step up Anthony Knockaert, who played in over 100 games for the side during his time there and bagged 25 goals.

He regularly controlled games and as his team were promoted, he claimed the Championship Player of the Year gong. But how has he got on since leaving the side?

After his Brighton promotion and some time in the top flight, he was poached by Fulham on a short-term basis. After featuring regularly for them – albeit not managing the same totals that he produced with Brighton – the Cottagers decided to seal a permanent move for the player. However, after signing for them on a full-time basis, he could manage just a further eight games for the team so far.

He is still a Fulham player as things stand but has had to spend the last two seasons out on loan to get playing time. He was sent out to Nottingham Forest last time around, where he featured regularly in the Championship again with 34 appearances. He helped them to a second tier promotion, as he had with Brighton, and has now been sent out on a short-term basis again.

This time, it is a different kind of challenge for Knockaert.

The forward has signed for Volos in Greece and has yet to feature for the side – but considering his experience and ability, the games should come a lot more frequently for the player than they have at Fulham.
