Brighton have beaten West Ham to the signing of FC Nordsjaelland teenager Ibrahim Osman with the Seagulls having agreed a summer deal to sign the forward.

Osman was subject of interest from West Ham in the January transfer window, though the Irons were unable to reach an agreement with the Danish side.

The Athletic are reporting that Brighton have now had a bid worth €19.5m (£16.6m) accepted and the Ghanaian has completed a medical with the Premier League side ahead of a summer move to the South Coast.

The 19-year-old broke into the Nordsjaelland side last season and has since scored twice in 27 senior appearances. Osman is a graduate of the Right to Dream academy in Ghana, which has helped produce West Ham forward Mohammed Kudus and Brighton winger Simon Adingra.

The deal continues Brighton’s policy of signing emerging talent from across the globe, following the arrival of highly-rated Argentine teenager Valentin Barco from Boca Juniors in January.
