Brighton have second bid rejected by PSV Eindhoven for defender Olivier Boscagli

According to Voetbal International, Brighton have had another offer rejected by PSV for French defender Olivier Boscagli. The Seagulls submitted a proposal worth around eight to €10m but that’s still below PSV’s asking price. Last season’s Eredivisie champions are keen to keep hold of the 26-year-old and will do everything possible to avoid a departure.

Olivier Boscagli has become the second centre-back linked with a move away from the Philips Stadion this summer. The club have received several bids from AS Monaco for Jordan Teze, but they’re yet to approve that move. Teze and Boscagli are considered key players and PSV will only sell for top money.

Former French youth international Olivier Boscagli received heaps of praise from Peter Bosz after his sides opening day 5-1 victory over Waalwijk. If Brighton want to sign the defender they’ll have to pay a lot more than what was initially offered. The player joined PSV from Nice five years ago and has since featured 162 times for the Dutch giants. The good news for Brighton is that his contract expires next summer, and despite receiving several offers to extend, he’s yet to pet pen to paper on a new deal. This will certainly be one to watch over the coming weeks.
