As the Bundesliga heads into the winter break, Bulinews.com editor-in-chief Rune Gjerulff has picked his team of the season so far.
The team, which lines up in an attacking 3-2-3-2 formation, can be found below.
Peter Gulacsi, RB Leipzig
After a first half of the season in which Leipzig were generally very solid at the back, the Hungarian shot-stopper has kept the most clean sheets (8) in the league and saved 72.5 percent of the shots that came his way.
Dayot Upamecano, Bayern Munich
Although their style of play can seem risky at times, Bayern have conceded just 13 goals in the league, and Upamecano has been key to their success. His pace, physicality, strength on the ball and ability to press up high make the Frenchman the perfect centre-back for the way Vincent Kompany wants Bayern to play.
Willi Orban, RB Leipzig
For the most part, Leipzig have been very solid defensively in the first half of the season, with captain Willi Orban playing a key role. A leader and a rock at the back, the Hungarian defender has also been a big threat in front of goal, scoring four goals in the Bundesliga.
Jonathan Tah, Bayer Leverkusen
After being denied the move to Bayern that he clearly wanted in the summer, Tah has shown what a true professional he is. As the leader of Leverkusen's back line, the experienced centre-back plays a vital role for the reigning champions. He has played at a consistently high level this season, demonstrating his strength in the tackle and passing accuracy.
Joshua Kimmich, Bayern Munich
Another player who's an integral part of the way Kompany wants Bayern to play, Kimmich has been moved back into midfield, where he's been pulling the strings. With a goal and four assists to his name, he's completed 93 percent of his passes and made 2.3 key passes per game.
Granit Xhaka, Bayer Leverkusen
Xhaka has been indispensable to Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen side, just as he was last season. With two goals and five assists to his name, the Swiss midfielder has completed 92 percent of his passes, averaging 2.1 key passes per game.
Michael Olise, Bayern Munich
The French winger has scored five goals and added seven assists in the Bundesliga so far this term, making an immediate impact at Bayern following his summer move from Crystal Palace. One of the best signings of the season.
Florian Wirtz, Bayer Leverkusen
Wirtz was instrumental to Leverkusen's double-winning season, and yet it feels like he's taken another step forward this season. With seven goals and seven assists to his name this season, the youngster has hardly had a bad game.
Jamal Musiala, Bayern Munich
The youngster has often stepped up when Bayern have needed him most and has become even more dangerous in front of goal, finding the net nine times so far this term.
Omar Marmoush, Eintracht Frankfurt
With 13 goals and seven assists in 15 Bundesliga appearances, Marmoush has been one of the league's standout performers and arguably the most improved player.
Harry Kane, Bayern Munich
Another self-explanatory inclusion, Kane has found the net 14 times in 13 Bundesliga appearances, scoring three hat-tricks in the process.
Bench: Zentner (Mainz), Davies (Bayern Munich), Grimaldo (Leverkusen), Amiri (Mainz), Stage (Werder), Grifo (Freiburg), Burkardt (Mainz), Kleindienst (Gladbach), Amoura (Wolfsburg).
