Burnley are set to let Anass Zaroury leave for French side RC Lens with the reported fee at 9 million euros.
Burnley winger and Morocco international Anass Zaroury is set to leave Turf Moor in a move to Ligue 1 outfit RC Lens.
The tweet from journalist Sacha Tavolieri indicates that the 23-year-old will be leaving Scott Parker's side for a fee of 9 million euros, signing a four-year contract.
The first part of the winger's medical is said to have been completed this afternoon.
Zaroury has fallen out of sorts at Burnley after an impressive 2022/23 campaign under Vincent Kompany, with the winger producing seven goals and five assists in 34 appearances.
Since then, however, Zaroury has struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League, and was loaned out to Hull City last January socring two goals in 12 games.
Zaroury was absent for the Clarets' 5-0 win versus Cardiff City, with the Burnley boss claiming he was "feeling ill".
The Moroccan winger joined the Clarets from Belgian club Charleroi for a reported fee of £3.5 million, signing a four-year-contract.
With the departure seemingly imminent to Lens, Zaroury is only halfway through the four years, with Scott Parker's side gaining a profit from this deal.
Zaroury showed glimmers at Hull City to potentially stake his claim to be involved in the Clarets' push for promotion back to the Premier League, but Burnley are set to cash in on the winger.
Speaking on the club website at the start of August, all indications pointed to Zaroury staying in Lancashire.
He said: "It was great to come back and see the players, staff and everyone who works here too. It’s always good to come back here after a little time away.
"Once the new Gaffer (Scott Parker) came in, everything’s been good. He’s been clear in what he wants from us, and I think from there on we started working well together, very organised.
"I'm looking forward to the season starting again now, it's very close, and we want to bring Burnley back to where it deserves to be. Of course, I have my private ambitions, but I think we just all have one mission, which is to go back up. I will do everything for the team and for myself to try to bring us up."
With Zaroury's departure, it comes as a slight shock but nothing major.
Parker has opted for Luca Koleosho on the left side of the Clarets' attack, who has flourished so far in this Championship campaign.
The Italian winger showed promising signs in the Premier League last season and was sure to be a main-stay in the Burnley lineup this campaign, ultimately replacing Zaroury's spot just two seasons ago.
If Koleosho was to stay fit this campaign, Zaroury probably wouldn't be happy with the game time he would've been provided.
Now, the Moroccan is set to join Will Still's promising side after Lens began their Ligue 1 campaign with a 1-0 win versus Angers.
