The visitors from Dortmund took an early 1-0 lead in the fourth minute away to BV Werther in East Westphalia thanks to an impressive finish from Paula Reimann. Following a short corner, Reimann picked her spot and fired the ball into the far corner from a half-left position.

The Black & Yellows went one better just one minute later. Mia Böger crossed the ball from the right to the far post, where Dana Marquardt came out on top in an aerial duel with the goalkeeper to head home BVB's second goal. After that, it was all BVB, but they were no longer able to assert themselves in the final third before the break. For coach Thomas Sulewski, it was the game he had expected: "We knew that our opponents would play very deep and not try to play much football. But we always remained calm and patient. The two early goals got us off to a good start and we deservedly increased the lead in the second half."

Nova Wicke, who replaced Mia Bedarf in the starting XI following the win against Schalke, made it 3-0 for Borussia shortly after the break (49'). Böger passed a low ball across goal from the byline toward Wicke, who slotted the ball into the net with one touch from the edge of the six-yard box.

In the 53rd minute, Marquardt scored once more with a header. The assist again came from Böger. Ten minutes later, captain Marie Grothe added the fifth and final goal. After a combination of passes with substitute Mia Bedarf down the right flank, Grothe dispatched her shot into the top corner of the net, similar to Reimann in the first half. "All in all, we absolutely deserved to win here and are happy to take the three points with us so that we can take the final step towards securing the title at home next week," said Sulewski in his summary of the away win in Werther.

Next Sunday, the BVB women will host Fortuna Freudenberg on the penultimate matchday of the Westfalenliga. A win would see the team clinch the league title and promotion to the Regionalliga in front of their home fans. Kick-off at the Rote Erde stadium is at 15:00 CEST.
